Still a companion?

About the Picture: This picture was shot near the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Mumbai – India.

Still a companion?
We were supposed to share our happiness,
We were supposed to share our worries.
We were supposed to complement each other,
We were supposed to be a companion for each other.

But as we grew old, we also grew apart …
Though we still live together
We don’t talk to each other…
We still eat together
But don’t share things with each other…
We still take a walk together
But don’t look at each other…

Which makes me wonder…
What made us grow apart?
Where did our love disappear?
When did the emptiness creep between us?
Is there still some way to make amends…
Or, have we reached a point of no return?

  2. oh dear… this poem is written lyrically.. but the meaning is just sad, but true as well. Some marriage couples do suffer this phenomena. I think that’s because love is a decision that two persons should make everyday. I guess they stopped that.❤
